This mask was created with the intention of with deep cleansing in mind to help purify the skin and absorb excess oil. The formula contains a specialized purifying complex to help improve acne scars, leaving your skin with a moisturized and brightened complexion.
Who is this for?
Intended for oily, combination, acne-prone and normal skin.
Purifies pores [ dirt, grime, pollution germs etc ]
Reduces oil in the skin
Effective acne treatment
Kaolin [ second on the list! ]
Citric Acid & Glycolic Acid [ See my article about AHA ]
Bilberry [ antioxidant, strengthen skin and free radical damage fighter ]
I've had a great experience with the mask so far. It has a very earthy/ peppery smell to it and is actually a very lightweight mask even though the second ingredient is kaolin. I tend to be picky with clay masks as I usually find them too stripping and heavy, but this one leaves my skin feeling fresh and ready for the rest of my routine.
How to use
After cleaning and toner, [ I prefer to do the mask in my morning routine up to 3 times a week ] apply mask all over face and leave on for 5-10 minutes. Gently remove with a soft damp cloth and proceed with the rest of your routine.
It's amazing how lightweight this mask feels [ for a clay mineral ]. Most of the ones I've tried feel super heavy and crack as it sits on my face leaving my skin feeling painfully dry, but this one feels like a thick gel moisturizer [ not rich though! ] and dries almost invisible instead of a pale white. Removing it with a cloth is a breeze too! [ I find clay masks tend to stick so much to my skin I practically have to scratch it off with a cloth! ]
All things considered, I really like this mask and think it has joined my staple mask shelf [ Yes. I am an avid sleeping mask, wash off mask girl ]. Although it's labeled "Acne Purifying Mask" I definitely think other skin types [ such as myself ] can benefit from it as well. I typically only use physical exfoliants 2-3 times a week so using this mask opposite days would work out for me. [ I mostly use products that have gentle chemical exfoliants daily and boost my routine with physicals to avoid clogged pores ].
I dare say this could arguably be suitable for sensitive skin types as well, since Kaolin can be used as an alternative gentle cleanser and has soothing properties for sensitive and irritated skin. However, if you can't handle the AHAs in this formula then I wouldn't recommend it for you. Let's not forget the Bio-Maple compound found in ALL formulas of ALL products of the B.Kamins Laboratories products. Find out more about it here.
